Letter
to Congress Workers
A
few days ago on the occasion of the anniversary of independence,
I was present at the Red Fort. I felt proud to watch the
tricolour unfurled in the fresh morning breeze. The pride
of our country?s achievements, the pride of our country?s
historic personalities, the pride of our country?s culture,
of its natural wealth, of its ancestors who had nurtured
this motherland with their sweat and blood. I felt pride
of my India, which has remained independent, united and
strong despite every sort of challenge. But the truth is
that my emotions did not limit here. My mind was dejected
alongwith this immense pride. It seemed that we became indifferent.
We are tolerating tyranny, corruption and incapacity beyond
the limits.
Today,
the situation has come to such a level that theft and robbery
are being committed before us and we are being advised not
to point a finger at them and allow them to openly indulge
in misdeeds, injustice and discrimination. Those who had
made a mountain out of petty issues during the Congress
rule, today are neck-deep in the swamp of corruption. They
are aiming at political mileage at the cost of the nation.
People sitting at the Centre speak about "Raj Dharma".
What is their "Raj Dharma"? BJP and its colleagues
are following the kind of dharma - a dharma of scams and
dharma of communalism and hypocrisy.
If
BJP has a bit of morality, they should own the responsibility
of their misdeeds.
Kashmir
elections are going to be held. The situation was not so
bad there during the Congress rule. Since, direction-less
unstable and weak governments came to the Centre, it has
given a chance for our enemy to get bold. Kargil tragedy
occured and several innocent people?s blood spilled in Jammu
and Kashmir, our Parliament was attacked. Despite all the
promise of zero-tolerance, terrorism has not been checked
till today. Now BJP and their colleagues want to trifurcate
Kashmir and I want to tell you that our neighbour too wants
the same. We are strictly against it. We want that Jammu
and Kashmir and Laddakh should prosper on equal footing.
This
is the twenty-first century, new generation of this country
has a right for a new future. We have every right to get
that India of our dream. This was the dream of Rajivji.
Congress has certain policies, certain principles and ideals.
Through these, the country has achieved independence and
these will fulfill our dreams. It is the duty of every citizen
of our country, every individual of the new generation towards
our motherland, to that glorious tricolour which is unfurled
at the Red Fort, that we should join in making of a new
India. For this we all have to march ahead collectively.
Our
party is committed to the uplift of weaker sections of soceity.
Our duty is to help the people in misery, share their grief,
kindle the fire of justice and organise them all for a new
future. Recently we have had fruitful discussions on the
problems facing SCs & STs at a national seminar. The
deliberations will further strengthen our resolve to work
for weaker sections.
