Tributes to Rajiv Gandhi

DEHRADUN: The City Congress Sevadal paid floral tributes to Rajiv Gandhi at the Sevadal office at the Pradesh Congress headquarters here. Those present on the occasion kept two-minute silence in his honour. Uttaranchal Congress Committee general secretary and Pradesh Congress Sevadal incharge, Shri Dhirendra Pratap asked the Sevadal workers to set an example by sacrifice and devotion and added that Rajivji was a true patriot and Karmayogi to the core.

City Congress Sevadal chief organizer, Shri Yagyamohan Singh Meena presided over the meeting. Others who attended the function included Shri Manmohan Sharma, Additional City Congress chief organizer, Smt. Saroj Bhatnagar, Mahila chief organizer, Shri I.S Jagdev, Shri Rajendra Khurana, Shri Salim Ahmed, Shri Sunil Dutt, Shri Kunwar Singh Yadav, Shri Sushila Thakur and Shri Manmohan Abbas.

KURUKSHETRA: The Kurukshetra District Congress Committee celebrated the birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi with enthusiasm. On the occasion, the leaders remembered Rajiv Gandhi’s work and resolved to fulfill his dreams. At the Congress Bhawan the Thanesar Block /City Congress president, Chaudhary Mehar Singh Ramgarh and Budh Prakash Verma led the function where rich tributes were paid to the departed leader. District Congress president, Shri Pawan Garg presided over the function.

The DCC organized prabhat pheris to celebrate the birth anniversary of late Rajiv Gandhi. The prabhat pheri was led by District Congress Sevadal chief organizer, Shri Ravindra Singh. On the occasion, Sevadal workers paid floral tributes to the portrait of Rajivji and remembered the work done for the well-being of the people. Many Sevadal workers participated in the function.

BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh Rajiv Gandhi Brigade celebrated the birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi here on 20 August, which was presided over by its District president, Shri Anil Mishra. Rajiv Gandhi Brigade president, Shri Shyam Sarwan addressed the gathering and said that Rajivji led the nation towards a new century and it is because of him that our country has a special place in information technology today. He said that Smt. Sonia Gandhi is striving to fulfill created direct links with panchs and sarpanchs through his letters.

Others who attended the function included Local Development minister, Chaudhary Jagjit Singh, Finance minister, Shri Lal Singh and many other MLAs.
