Sandesh, A Good Medium

Congress Sandesh is an important medium through which the Congressmen come to know about the important suggestions and decisions of the Congress president, Smt. Sonia Gandhi.

Reading the magazine the youth experience the flow of energy which motivates them to transform them according to the arising situations. Ever since the people of Himachal Pradesh have rejected the BJP and placed their trust in the policies of the Congress, the BJP leaders are worried and upset. The BJP have also visualized their defeat in the forthcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. Now a new wave is flowing throughout the country and the people are looking towards Smt. Sonia Gandhi to lead the country in installing a secular government at the Centre.

BJP’s Unholy Tactics

It refers to BJP-exposure for its unholy tactics of encashing as usual religious sentiment to ban cow-slaughter solely for poll purposes. The party (then Jansangh) successfully played the poll-card by raising demand to ban cow slaughter in the 1967 elections. Now instead of sincerely banning the cow-slaughter in its initial days of present Lok Sabha, it brought the necessary bill only now, that too without having discussion with its allies. BJP should first improve pitiable condition of cow-flock searching food in dust-bins. Union Government should also look into legalized export of cow-flock from India to Bangladesh for slaughter.

Historic Number

I am a regular reader of the Congress Sandesh which conveys to us the thoughts of Gandhiji and Nehruji. All the issues are beautiful but the July, 2003 issue is a historic issue of our organisation. Through this issue people will get encouraged to work for the party and the nation. We should expand our circulation.

NSUI Victory Hailed

Clean sweep by NSUI candidates in the Delhi University Students’ Union elections makes it clear that not only the common people but even the youth and students have rejected the BJP and its allies. Keeping in view the next state Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, the Congress Party should be made more strong. I suggest that honest and active youth should be given active role in the organisation and responsibilities be given to them.

Negative Forces

Recently, communal violence flared up in Tehlan village in the Jalandhar district of Punjab and Akali Dal, BJP and BSP, instead of subsiding the violence, flared it more. By doing so they wanted to defame the Congress rule in the State. But on the directive of the Congress president, Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Punjab chief minister, Capt. Amrinder Singh took prompt action to take control of the situation. For this, I congratulate both the Congress president and the Punjab chief minister.

Family Planning

It refers to Union government examining proposal of extending benefits of ‘reservation’ for economically backward in upper castes. Main reason for backwardness in any section of society is more children. Benefits of ‘reservation’ should only be given to people adopting small-family norms with upto two children, thereby abolishing all caste-based or demanded economic-based reservations. Move will make the nation progress fast with automatic uplift in life-styles of people. Move will also save funds on flop family-planning programmes.
