Letter
to Congress Workers
Dear
friends,
I
am happy to inform you that the response of the people to
our party's election campaign is very encouraging. Wherever
I went to address meetings I found tremendous enthusiasm
among the cross-section of society. Old, young and even
children came in great numbers to listen to what we have
to say on issues that are bothering the whole nation. And,
they stayed through the meetings evincing keen interest
in our policies and programmes.
There
is undoubtedly enormous goodwill and support for the Congress
Party throughout the country. People are appreciating our
policies and our principles of good governance that offer
the right answers to the problems facing the nation. And
our commitment to secularism, democracy and economic equity
give the people much comfort. The message we receive is
that the Congress Party alone can save the nation from the
misrule of the NDA government.
The
Congress Party has always treated the peoples' welfare on
the top of its agenda. Our commitment to our motto : Congress
Ka Haath, Garib Ke Saath is total. This pledge must be redeemed.
We can and we shall. But to fulfil this task we need to
be united, disciplined and work in concert. An excellent
example of this
unity
and sense of direction has been witnessed in the Jan Jagran
rallies that have been taken out throughout the country.
These rallies were a resounding success and injected fresh
dynamism in the rank and file. These rallies which included
dharnas too at some places have set an important precedent.
I appeal to all of you to work in the same spirit of cooperation
and solidarity to achieve victory for our party in the five
states going to the polls.
