IYC Supports US Fight Against Terrorism

The Nainidanda Block Congress president, Shri Anand Singh Chatak, and convenor Shri Dhirender Pratap at the Nainidanda Block Congress convention in Jagdai.

NAINIDANDA: A workers convention of Nainidanda block in the Pauri Garhwal district was held at Jagdei village on 19 August. Shri Dhirendra Pratap, state observer, Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee, was the coordinator of this convention in which more than 250 Congress workers participated.

Expressing gratitude to Smt. Sonia Gandhi for the formation of the Uttarakhand state, the convention passed resolutions including one demanding formation of a separate district of Dhumakot, setting up of a degree college in Nainidanda, setting up of SDM office in Dhumakot district and setting up of industries in the district.

Others who attended the convention were Shri Puran Singh Dagwal, PCC member, Shri Anand Singh Chatak, president Nainidanda Block Congress Committee, former Block president, Shri Pan Singh Rawat, Maulayakhal Block chief, Smt. Kamla Rawat, Mahila Congress leader and Smt. Anandi Devi.

The convention venue was named after prominent freedom fighter, late Narayan Singh Rawat and the gate was named after former Block Congress president late Shish Ram Pokhariyal.

Martyrs' Day at Auriaya

AURIAYA : The workers of Auriaya district Congress Committee and the district Youth Congress paid tributes to the martyrs here on 12 August, 2001. A procession under the leadership of Shri Krishnalal Jain, senior Congress leader and the Chairman of Freedom Fighter’s Organisation, was also taken out from Sankatmochan Dharmshala to Shaheed Park, where the processionists paid floral tributes to the martyrs of 12 August, 1942 including Mahatma Gandhi and Mukundilal Gupta.

Shri Ram Sewak Goel, district Congress Committee president and vice-presidents, Dr. P.N. Shukla, Shri Ram Krishna Chaturvedi and Shri Kamal Gupta, general secretary Shri Ramchandra Shukla and Shri Brij Kishore Pandey, the district organiser Shri Ram Pratap Gupta among several other leaders of the district participated in the programme.
