Youth Congress Rally Against Anti-people Policies

KARNAL : The Youth Congress workers took out a rally on 9 October to protest against the anti-people policies of the State and the Centre. On the call given by Indian Youth Congress president, Shri Randeep Singh Surjewala, the youth collected at the Ramlila Bhawan.

Shri Surjewala, while addressing the youth, said the Chief Minister of Haryana was busy dumping unbearable burden on farmers by imposing various taxes. He also blamed the government machinery for not providing minimum support price (MSP) to the farmers. He said procuring agents would buy the crops from the farmers at a much lower price than the MSP and then enter the support price in their registers, thereby pocketing the profits.

He said that the Chautala Government, which claimed to be farmer friendly, has broken the backs of the farmers by increasing prices of the farming related inputs.

Also present on the occasion were Shri Satvinder Sandhu, Shri Jaisingh Rana, Shri Vijay Sharma, Shri Suresh Gupta and Shri Kumar Rampal who also addressed the gathering. They later submitted a memorandum addressed to the Governor to the city SDM, Shri Bhupinder Singh.
