CP's Letter Inspiring

I was extremely happy to read "Letter to Congress Workers" by our party President, Smt. Sonia Gandhi in the March issue of the Congress Sandesh which infuses confidence in the Congress workers. Through her letter, Smt. Gandhi has pointed out how Gandhiji made the women aware of their rights after shrugging off their domestic bondage. Smt. Gandhi has congratulated the Congress workers for their victory in Haryana and has asked the workers in Bihar and Jharkhand to make introspection into their failures. I am sure that Smt. Gandhi through the Congress Sandesh will guide us with her encouraging writings that will give confidence to Congress workers.

Water Scarce, Liquor in Plenty

Under the new excise policy the BJP's woman Chief Minister of Rajasthan is busy opening more and more liquor shops in the state. Not only this, they are even planning to dispense liquor from departmental stores. With this new excise policy there will be increase in liquor shops and as a result more and more people will take to drinking liquor. The state government which has failed in providing pure drinking water to its people talks about giving good quality liquor to the people. With consumption of more liquor in the state, there will be more social offences like wife-beating and other related incidents. Mahatma Gandhi had said that consumption of liquor slowly kill the soul of a man and by and by transforms him into an animal.

Jharkhand: Split Vote

The people of Jharkhand were against the BJP coalition at the time of Assembly elections and were in favour of bringing back Congress coalition to power. But due to faulty distribution of tickets and competition from RJD which placed its candidates in 71 out of 81 Assembly seats resulted in splitting of votes. The party is passing through a difficult time in the state and we have to take serious steps to make the party organization base stronger. The loyal Congress workers in the state have to be kept in mind and we should rise above groupism to strengthen the party which will ultimately strengthen the hands of the Congress president, Smt. Sonia Gandhi.

Kalla, A Good Choice

The appointment of Dr. Bulaki Das Kalla, the popular Congress leader of Rajasthan, by the Congress president, Smt. Sonia Gandhi as the president of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee has been a wise decision. This decision will be beneficial for the Congress party and I am sure that under the leadership of Shri Kalla the moral of the Congress workers in the state will be high and thus will provide more strength to the party.

Nirupam, Welcome

The Congress President, Smt. Sonia Gandhi, has taken the right decision at the right time by inducting youthful MP, Shri Sanjay Nirupam into the Congress party. I feel that by his inclusion the party will be strengthened as he is sharp and powerful vocal leader. Congress actually needs such leaders who can propagate Congress policies and programmes throughout the country. I appreciate and congratulate Smt. Gandhi for this move.
