As
the budget session concluded the true colours of the party
that styles itself as `principled' got exposed throughly.
The boycott of Parliament by the BJP has sent some significant
messages to the nation. First and foremost is that the BJP
is scared of facing Parliament. Why? Because it had too
many skeletons in its cupboard, which had begun tumbling
down on the floor of Parliament with amazing regularity.
Secondly, the party is too disunited and fraction-ridden
to present a compact face in Parliament. Finally, it has
no answers to the wide variety of questions staring at its
face. It is beyond anyone's imagination what purpose the
boycott served for the BJP. On the other hand, it backfired
so badly that one of its big poll associates, the Telugu
Desam Party, chose to break away from boycott and return
to Parliament. That incidentally also marked the end of
an association which will cost the BJP very dearly in Andhra
Pradesh. That was the only result of the boycott. One can
count only on the BJP for such self-defeating political
strategies!
