CBI
Probe Sought into Paper Leakage
KURUKSHETRA
: District Congress Committee president Pawan Garg demanded
a CBI inquiry into the leakage of question papers in the
annual examinations of Kurukshetra University.
Mr.
Garg urged Kurukshetra university Chancellor and Haryana
Governor, Babu Parmanand to order an inquiry. Someone politically
influential was behind the paper leakage. The inquiry should
cover scrutiny of rules and regulations and political appointments
made in the University.
Mr.
Garg also submitted a memorandum to the Haryana Governor
to protest increase in house tax, fire tax and professional
tax. "The house tax was used to be increased after
every five years earlier but the state government has ordered
to increase it every year without notice to the affected
persons and without hearing objections and suggestions",
said the memorandum. Calling it unconstitutional the Congress
leader demanded its reversal and no revision should be allowed
every year.
