MANIFESTO IMPLEMENTATION COMMITTEES

NEW DELHI: The Congress Party on 14 March appointed Manifesto Implementation Committees in 13 states where it is in power, barring Haryana, to oversee the implementation of the promises made in its party manifesto.

The Congress President, Smt. Sonia Gandhi, has appointed a senior leader in a group of four-member committees in 12 states and five members for Andhra Pradesh. Releasing the list, the party spokesperson, Shri Anand Sharma, said the committees would examine the implementation of promises made and provide thrust in areas of concern such as disadvantaged sections of the people, women, youth, farmers and backward classes.

The committee includes All India Congress Committee general secretaries in charge of states, Pradesh Congress chiefs and state Chief Ministers, besides senior leaders. The committee for Haryana would be constituted in due course.
