Letter to Congress Workers

Congratulations, Sonia Gandhi

The entirely unexpected results of the Lok Sabha elections reflected the victory of the man on the street Ð who truly matters most in a democracy. I congratulate Congress President, Smt. Sonia Gandhi on her intense campaigning, agile adroit leadership in an election battle that will go down in history. I am sure the Congress Party will deliver on its manifesto.

Salute the Leader

Power is not above party organisation and this was amply proved by the Congress president, Smt. Sonia Gandhi who led the Congress coalition to a resounding victory. It is the result of her hectic roadshows and vigorous interaction with the people at large that brought victory for the party. Smt. Sonia Gandhi has given a direction to the party leaders and grassroot workers and has developed a special place in the hearts of the people and for this the party workers are proud and honoured. Our salute to the Congress president.

Mandate, An Eye Opener

By giving the mandate in favour of the Congress-led alliance, the people of India have reposed faith in the leadership of Smt. Sonia Gandhi. Her decision to give up Prime Minister post has enhanced her stature. She single-handedly gave a fresh lease of life to the dying party. Seldom one finds such an instance in history.

The 14th Lok Sabha poll results have proved that voters canÕt be swayed by false promises. The Ôforeign originÕ issue raked up by the BJP could not stop the wise voter from taking the right step nor were they influenced by the Ôtemple issueÕ. The election mandate must open the eyes of the political parties.

Unparalled Sacrifice

Once again, Smt. Sonia Gandhi made history by making a personal sacrifice unparalleled in the world. Despite all the allies and supporting parties with 318 MPs solidly behind her, she gave up the Prime MinisterÕs post in an act that will go down in history as unique

Party Will be Stronger

The way Congress president, Smt. Sonia Gandhi, has taken care of the party it is now certain the party will become more stronger and stable at all levels. What is needed today in the Congress is to extend due recognition to dedicated workers who should be given preference in the organisation. In the states where Vidhan Sabha elections are due shortly the inactive office-bearers should be replaced by active workers.

Smt. Sonia Gandhi's decision to decline the post of prime minister confirms that dedication and sacrifice runs in the Nehru-Gandhi family. Dedication and sacrifice are essential for the party. After Mahatama Gandhi, Smt. Sonia Gandhi has made such a sacrifice which will be remembered by the whole world and her name will be etched in gold.

Well Done Congress!

My congratulations and good wishes on the success of the Congress party for winning the Lok Sabha elections and forming a government at the Centre. The entire credit goes to the Congress led by Sonia Gandhi, Congress leaders and workers. The defeat of NDA has shown that people canÕt be fooled by false promises. Congress party should also keep this in mind.
