Congress will Retain Power in Delhi : Anil Shastri

 

NEW DELHI : The Delhi Pradesh Youth Congress general secretary and incharge Tilak Nagar District Youth Congress, Shri Sanjay Ghaloth, organised a function on June 25, to felicitate AICC general secretary, Shri Oscar Fernandes, AICC secretary and Delhi Congress Incharge, Shri Anil Shastri, DPCC’s newly-appointed president, Ch. Prem Singh and NSUI National President, Shri Ashok Tanwar. Shri Rajesh Lilothia, president DPYC was also present. Many Congress leaders including MLA Shri Moti Lal Bakolia, Smt. Krishna Tirath, Counsellor, Shri Tulsi Ram Sablania, Shri Satbir Sharma, Shri C.P. Mittal, political advisor to the president IYC were also present.

In his speech, Shri Anil Shastri criticised the BJP-led Central Government for its anti-masses and anti-national policies. He said the time has come to educate the common people against BJP’s policies. He also appreciated Delhi Government’s achievements. He said the Delhi Government has fulfilled all its promises.

Ch. Prem Singh strongly criticised the Delhi BJP chief, Shri Madan Lal Khurana for his false statements and propaganda against Congress and Delhi Government. He said, BJP has no issue to go before the people in the coming Assembly election. He also criticised UP chief minister, Ms. Mayawati for her anti-dalit activities. He said that Ms. Mayawati is continuously misusing the name of Baba Saheb Ambedkar for her political ends.

In his vote of thanks, Shri Sanjay Ghaloth said the cadre of Youth Congress in Delhi will work as soldiers of Smt. Sonia Gandhi and the Congress Party. He said the workers of Youth Congress should go on a door to door campaign and educate the public about the achievements of the Delhi Government.

The programme was attended by many Youth Congress office-bearers like Shri Ghanendra Bhardwaj, Shri Parmanand (Pammi), Shri Mukesh Piyal, Shri Tarun Tyagi, Adv. Sunil Kumar, Shri Bharat Bhusan, Shri Mukesh Anchal, Shri Asha Ram Jatav, Shri Sanjiv Shanker, Shri Kedar Nath Rajora, Shri Rakesh Parcha, Shri Joginder Kr., Shri Shyam Sunder, Shri Kishan Kharalia, Shri Vinod Srivastava, Shri Arun Ojha, Shri Narender Parcha, Shri Nand Lal Balguhar, Shri Amit Pal, Shri Naresh Parcha, Shri Ajay Parcha, Shri Mahender Parcha, Shri Tarun, Shri Jassa and hundreds of Congress workers.

Subhash Chopra Elected Delhi Assembly Speaker

NEW DELHI : Shri Subhash Chopra, the MLA from Kalkaji was on 3 July elected speaker of the Delhi Assembly. The resolution proposing the name of Shri Chopra was moved by the Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt. Sheila Dikshit and seconded by Shri Nasib Singh. Shri Subhash Chopra takes over from Chaudhary Prem Singh who has been nominated by the party leadership as the president of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee. Shri Subhash Chopra had earlier resigned from the post of DPCC president.

 

The Congress delegation led by the Delhi Chief Minister, Smt. Sheila Dikshit and DPCC president, Ch. Prem Singh coming out of election commission office after making a protest against demolition of slums by the DDA in New Delhi on 23 June.
