Massive turnout at Regional Party Meet

SANGLI : The Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee organized the Regional Congress workers convention for western Maharashtra here on 8 June. There was a massive turnout of the Congress workers which also showed the Congress strength in western Maharashtra. The convention was attended by Maharashtra PCC president, Shri Ranjit Deshmukh, Maharashtra Chief Minister, Shri Sushil Kumar Shinde, AICC general secretary and incharge, Shri Vayalar Ravi, AICC secretary and incharge, Mirza Irshad Beg and veteran leaders like Shri Arjun Singh, Shri Balram Jakhar, Shri Shivraj Patel, former Pradesh presidents, Shri Prataprao Bhonsela and Shri Shivaji Rao Deshmukh, Maharashtra Agriculture minister, Shri Govind Rao Adik, Shri Prakash Dada Patil, state ministers, MPs and MLAs also participated in the convention. Shri Yeshawant Rao Kadam welcomed the guests.

On the occasion the Youth Congress workers from the city and adjoining villages took out a motorcycle rally who were greeted into the city of Sangli by Mirza Beg and were then led to the place where the convention was being held. Others who led the rally were Shri Kalla Aigner Avade, ex-MP, state minister, Shri Prakash Avade, Shri Ashok Aarag, Shri Raiek Khajra, Shri Ravi Rajput, Shri Raju Bhardasya and Shri Armasya Bhujawar.

Vocational Training Camp by Sevadal

PUNE : A meeting of the Western Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Sewadal was organised by the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Sewadal at the Congress Bhawan here on 1 June. The meeting was attended by Shri Chalte Baburai, organising secretary of the All India Congress Sewadal, Shri Chandrakant Dayma, president of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Sewadal Board, Shri Shashikant Thorat, pradesh chief organiser, Shri Prakash Satpute, Shri P.A. Patil, Shri Chandrasekhar Kapote, Shri Ravindra Mhaskar, Shri Ramchandra Bhuvad, Smt. Shashikala Kumbhar and representatives from Pune City and the districts of Sangli, Satara, Sholapur and Kolhapur. On the occasion Shri Chote Baburai was felicitated by the Pune City Congress president, Shri Mohan Joshi.

Earlier on 9 May, the Pune District Congress Sewadal commemorated the birth anniversary of Dr. N.S Hardikar, the founder of the Congress Sewadal. On the occasion a vocational training camp was organised at the Congress Bhawan. The camp was inaugurated by the City Congress president, Shri Mohan Joshi who said the youth will be benefitted from the vocational training as. The training camp was assisted by Shri Sanjay Pule of Sericulture Mahamandal and by other agencies.
