Momentous
Day Coming
The
outcome of the Assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir clearly
reflect the masses discontentment with the communal BJP-led
NDA Government. Moreover, this verdict has proved that the
people of the state have reposed their trust in the Congress
party.
Ever
since Smt. Sonia Gandhi became the president of the Congress
Party, the Party has emerged victorious in the majority
of Assembly elections held so far. The entire credit for
this goes only to the dynamic leadership of Smt. Gandhi.
In the wake of formation of a ministry in Jammu and Kashmir
after the polls Smt. Gandhi exhibited that she valued national
interest more than political goal. By permitting the PDP
(People’s Democratic Party) to lead the coalition she was
indeed instrumental in leading the hopes and aspirations
of the people of the valley in the right direction.
The
growing popularity of Smt. Gandhi among the masses has frustrated
the ugly ambitions of the so-called Hindutva forces. Out
of sheer frustration they are indulging in levelling baseless
allegations and passing derogatory remarks against her.
But all their ugly designs will definitely burst when Smt.
Gandhi takes up the leadership of this country. In my view,
that momentous day is gradually approaching.

BJP’s
Dismal Record
The
BJP in Gujarat has failed to provide relief to those effected
by the earthquake, drought and the carnage. Still they are
shamelessly asking for people’s support. No wonder their
plank is communal and divisive agenda. How could the Narendra
Modi government which could not bring solace and peace in
people in general, guarantee peace and progress after the
elections? People can gauge this fact themselves before
casting their vital vote.

New
Terrorism
A
certain section of our society is misusing language for
character assassination of thousands of people. Mr. Praveen
Togadia belongs to this particular section.
While
women are worshipped in our country, Mr. Togadia is shamefully
using disgraceful language against them. Like a terrorist
he is spreading terror by his language, ignorant of our
secular traditions and culture.
Such
people are a threat to society. Their main aim is to tear
the secular fabric of the nation and talibanise it.

Packaging
Gimmicks
To
save consumers from being cheated by gimmick packaging,
Central Government should modify 3rd
Schedule (Rule 5) of Standards of Weights and Measures (Packaged
Commodities Rules, 1977) in true metric spirit to pack all
commodities in packs of either 1,2,5,10,20,50,100, 200,500
gms or mltrs, and then in 1, 2, 5 or multiples of 5 kgs
or ltrs only, abolishing present many categories in the
Schedule.
Items
to be packed in numbers may be packed in units of 1, 2,
5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000 and multiples of 1000
only. Manufacturers often misuse so many categories for
deviation. Directorate of Weights and Measures has to uselessly
involve in litigations for such lacuna in the rules.
Presently
shopkeepers often cheat consumers by putting a sticker or
‘price per pack’ like at an item weighing say 500 mltrs.
Instead as ‘price per unit’! Items like soap-cakes weighing
just 75 gms are packed with extra paper-card to look like
100 gms soap-cake.

Wishing
Long-life
I
am a Congressman to the core and pray for a long life for
our beloved leader Smt. Sonia Gandhi on her birthday on
9th December. Under her leadership the Party is moving from
strength to strength. This is good for the country.
