Reshuffled Delhi Cabinet Takes Oath of Office

Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit with the new entrants to her cabinet - Deep Chand Bandhu, RK Chauhan, Ajay Maken and Haroon Yusuf - after the oath-taking ceremony at Raj Niwas in the Capital.

NEW DELHI : The new-look Delhi cabinet with the swearing-in of four new ministers — Mr. Deep Chand Bandhu, Mr. Ajay Makan, Mr. Haroon Yusuf and Mr. Raj Kumar Chauhan — were sworn in by the Lt. Governor Vijay Kapoor at the Raj Niwas here on 6 November.

This is the first reshuffle of the cabinet since Mrs. Sheila Dikshit took charge as Chief Minister of the Delhi Government in 1998. The former Finance Minister, Mr. Mahinder Singh Saathi and Health Minister, Dr. Ashok Walia are the only two ministers who were retained in the reshuffle.

Following are their names with their portfolios : Mrs. Sheila Dikshit (Chief Minister) - Water, Vigilance, Services, Public Relations, Law and Justice, Home, GAD, and Administrative Reforms; Mr. Mahinder Singh Saathi - Finance & Planning Department; Dr. A.K. Walia - Urban Development, Health & Family Welfare Department (additional charge of Land & Building); Mr. Ajay Maken - Transport, Power, Tourism Department; Mr. Haroon Yusuf - Development, Revenue, Food and Supplies, Irrigation and Flood Control; Mr. Deep Chand Bandhu - Industries, Environment, Forest and Wildlife Department, Employment, Labour and Elections; Mr. Raj Kumar Chauhan - Education, Training, Technical Education, Social Welfare, Welfare of SC/ST.
