Powerful Instrument

I am delighted to learn that the 54th Independence Day edition of 'Congress Sandesh', will be highlighting the problems and prospects before the nation.

Congress Sandesh is only three year old, but it has helped Congress workers in understanding the various issues before the Party and the nation and also in appreciating the same from the Congress perspective, is no small achievement.

The credit goes to our esteemed Congress President, Smt. Sonia Gandhi. It was so thoughtful of her to launch this monthly journal, which has emerged as a powerful mouthpiece of the Party.

I am eagerly looking forward to the Independence Day edition of Congress Sandesh, which, I am sure, while recalling the supreme sacrifices and visionary role of the Congress leaders in making India a free and secular country, shall also light the path shown by our beloved Rajivji for us to achieve his dreams of a hapy, prosperous and modern secular India under the dynamic leadership and visionary guidance of Soniaji.

I wish the editorial board every success in its endeavours to this end.

A Vital Link With Cadre

I am glad to know that the third anniversary of the 'Congress Sandesh' coincides with the 54th Independence Day of our country.

It was at the behest of the President of the Indian National Congress and our beloved leader, Smt. Sonia Gandhi, that the journal 'Congress Sandesh' was launched on August 15, 1998. Since then, the journal has been providing useful information on the policies and programmes of the party to the people, especially the workers, spread all over the country. Indian National Congress stands for secularism, communal harmony and national integration. The journal serves as a vital link between the Congress leadership and the party followers.

I am sure, under the able stewardship of Smt. Soniaji 'Congress Sandesh' will continue to highlight the Congress ideology in an effective manner and enthuse party workers to serve the masses with dedication.

I wish the third anniversary special number of 'Congress Sandesh' all success.

Vehicle for Congress

At the outset I am very proud to state that the 'Congress Sandesh' is very informative and interesting. I have been a Congress worker since childhood. I believe that Congress alone can develop India in all spheres. It is the only party rendering actual service to the downtrodden. Because of this millions SCs and STs look to the party. Spirit of sacrifice of the Nehru's family should be imbibed by all Congressmen - old and young - so that the party will always remain the choice of the masses.

Smt. Soniaji is an exemplary leader carrying the Congress flag aloft to keep the nation intact and for the betterment of the downtrodden. That is why rejuvenated Congress is in flying colours attracting back the people. 'Congress Sandesh' is a great vehicle in fulfilling the task of Soniaji to take the party to the pinnacle and serve the nation.

I heartily wish 'Congress Sandesh' all success and hope it will become part and parcel of the life of the Congress worker.
