in Government and in Prime Minister's Secretariat between
1962--77, 1980--84 and in 1989 including the office
of O.S.D. and Additional Secretary to the Prime Minister;
Resigned Government Service in 1977 after the defeat
of Mrs. Indira Gandhi in 1977 general elections; Joined
Government service again in 198() as Special Assistant
to the Prime Minister in Director's grade and promoted
to Joint Secretary's grade in 1983; resigned Government
service on 2nd January, I ()85; joined as Officer on
Special Duty and Additional Secretary to the Government
of India in February. 1989 and resigned in November,
1989 after the defeat of late Shri Rajiv Gandhi Government
during general election in 1989: harassed along with
father, brother and close friends by the Janata Party
Government for not deposing against Mrs. Indira Gandhi
and her family before Shah Commission in 1977; faced
Thakkar Commission of Enquiry again during 1985--88;
faced Privileges Committee of Lok Sabha also in 1977-78
and sent to Tihar Jail along with Mrs. Indira Gandhi
by a Resolution of the Lok Sabha in 1978; All India
Congress Committee Observer for election of legislature
Party leader, December, 1993 for the biennial election
to Rajya Sabha from Karnataka February, 1994 and for
re-organisation of Pradesh Congress Committee in Madhya
